What is the mission of your organization?
The Village Food Pantry exists to provide nutritious food and essential household items to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity while treating every person with dignity, respect, and compassion. Guided by our belief that “Hope Reaches Outside the Walls,” we strive to ensure that no one in our community has to choose between putting food on the table and meeting other basic needs.

For more than two decades, the Village Food Pantry has served Butler County and surrounding communities through the dedication of an all-volunteer team. We distribute food each week to hundreds of families, providing fresh produce, pantry staples, and other essential items in a welcoming, client-choice environment where every person is treated with kindness and respect.

Our mission extends beyond food distribution. We believe in strengthening our community by partnering with local schools, churches, businesses, civic organizations, and other nonprofits to meet the needs of families throughout the year. Through programs such as our annual Back-to-School Bash, holiday meal distributions, and community outreach events, we help children begin the school year prepared, support families during times of financial hardship, and connect neighbors with resources that promote stability and hope.

Everything we accomplish is made possible through volunteers, donors, and community partners who share our commitment to serving others. Every donation entrusted to the Village Food Pantry directly supports our mission of feeding families, building relationships, and creating a stronger, more compassionate community.

At the Village Food Pantry, we believe that helping a neighbor is more than providing food—it is restoring hope, preserving dignity, and demonstrating that it truly takes a village.

Any comments about your selections you would like to share with the student philanthropists?
The Village Food Pantry selected **Children, Hunger, and Poverty** because these issues are closely connected and are at the heart of our mission.

Every week, we see firsthand how food insecurity affects families in our community. Children cannot focus on learning when they are hungry, and parents should never have to choose between purchasing food and paying for other necessities such as rent, utilities, or medicine.

Our pantry provides nutritious food and essential household items in a welcoming, respectful environment where every neighbor is treated with dignity and compassion. We believe that providing food is only the beginning. Every interaction is an opportunity to offer encouragement, restore hope, and remind our neighbors that they are not alone.

Through programs such as our annual Back-to-School Bash, holiday meal distributions, and partnerships with schools and community organizations, we work to ensure that children and families have the resources they need to succeed.

We are grateful for student philanthropists who are learning the importance of giving back to their communities. Your support helps provide more than food—it helps create hope, strengthen families, and build a brighter future for our neighbors.

The Village Food Pantry welcomes students who want to make a difference in their community by serving others. We believe volunteering is an excellent opportunity to develop leadership skills, compassion, teamwork, and a lifelong commitment to community service.

Volunteer opportunities may include:

• Sorting and organizing donated food and household items
• Stocking pantry shelves and preparing food distributions
• Packing food bags and special program items
• Assisting with seasonal events such as our Back-to-School Bash and holiday meal distributions
• Helping with setup, cleanup, and general pantry organization
• Supporting special community outreach projects as needed

Students in Grades 6–8 are welcome to volunteer when accompanied by a parent, guardian, school group, church group, or other approved adult leader. Students in Grades 9–12 may volunteer independently, depending on the assignment and with appropriate supervision.

Our volunteers work alongside experienced pantry team members in a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment while gaining valuable experience serving their neighbors.
