What is the mission of your organization? Stray Animal Adoption Program (SAAP) is an all- volunteer, non-profit organization that exists to rescue, protect, and provide care for at risk pets. We promote lifelong adoptions while focusing on spay/neuter and the education of animal welfare.
Which social causes (up to 3 choices) does your agency address through its programming? *
  • (1) Animals
  • (5) Education
  • (10) Life Skills
Any comments about your selections you would like to share with the student philanthropists?
Since our foundation, SAAP has saved over 33,000 dogs and cats in the Tri-State region, which makes us the largest rescue in the Greater Cincinnati area. We work with ~40 shelters in NKY, Cincinnati, and SE Indiana to save at-risk animals. We have NO paid employees but a strong support base of 350 volunteers, including 20+ key volunteers that carry out daily tasks. In 2020, we save almost 3000 dogs and cats alone despite being in a Pandemic! In addition to rescue, we also educate the public on the importance of spay/neuter–before the Pandemic, we would go to schools, boy/girl scout meetings, churches, and local events to discuss spay/neuter and overall animal care–we look forward to doing this again when it is safe to do so! While we do require volunteers to be 16+ years of age, we welcome all age groups to reach out to us and schedule a fun and informational meeting at our weekend adoption event, when it is deemed safe, where you will be able to interact with our president or other key members and pet some dogs and cats! We look forward to hearing from you!
Does your organization have volunteer opportunities available for students? * Yes, Grades 9 – 12
