Pro Seniors staff and volunteers help people age 60 or over to understand their rights and their options. This includes assistance from an attorney on our Legal Helpline, via a telephone appointment with the older person or someone who is calling on their behalf. It also includes our Long-Term Care Ombudsman staff who help people living in nursing homes, assisted living, or adult care homes, or using community-based services like home health care, home delivered meals or adult day programs by investigating and working to resolve problems the residents experience. This team of staff and volunteers make unannounced visits to over 300 long-term care communities in our five-county region, educating residents, families and staff on residents’ rights, providing support to resident councils, and more. Our Ohio Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) equips Medicare beneficiaries throughout Ohio to recognize, avoid and report suspected Medicare fraud and scams. Everyone who uses Pro Seniors’ services receives a survey to provide feedback on their experience. We use survey results and comments to improve our services. | |
