Any comments about your selections you would like to share with the student philanthropists? Our Daily Bread is Cincinnati’s largest soup kitchen. In continuous operation since 1985, we serve 300 – 400 hot, home cooked meals each day, Monday-Friday. We envision a Greater Cincinnati in which every person has sufficient access to food, essential social services and a place to feel safe. 100% of our food is donated, sparing 200,000 pounds of usable food from the landfill each year. In addition to our Soup Kitchen and Community Space, we also provide Emergency Assistance and an after-school program called Kids Club.
Does your organization have volunteer opportunities available for students? * Yes, Grades 9 – 12
List possible volunteer opportunities -or- a link to where they can be found on the web. We couldn’t do what we do without the help of our high school volunteers. Over 2,000 volunteers each year prepare and serve food, greet guests, and bus tables during our 9:45-11:45 soup kitchen hours, Monday – Friday. Volunteers also help out in Kids Club, our after-school program for kids age 5-12, which operates from 2:00 – 5:00, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Kids Club volunteers help with homework, play games, and provide one-on-one support to kids in need. Information is on our website.
