| According to the Association of American Medical Colleges’ (AAMC) 2024 Diversity in Medicine Facts and Figures report, African Americans comprise only 5.2% of the U.S. physician workforce. Therefore, Made for Medicine was founded as a programmatic solution to redress the underrepresentation of African Americans in the medical field.
Made for Medicine is an initiative to attract more African American and Black talent to the medical profession through sustaining their pathway to medicine, delivering a culturally responsive curriculum, and providing access to same-race faculty role models. Students in grades 6-12 complete comprehensive and rigorous programming that supplies them with critical foundational knowledge and hands-on learning experiences prior to their undergraduate and medical school educations. |
