| What is the mission of your organization? | As I have done over the past 1 1/2 years I aim to raise awareness of social issues affecting our youth today. These include racism, discrimination, violence, as well as bullying and the stigma attached to mental health problems. Through this heightened awareness my goal is to create constructive dialogue between students and their teachers, parents, and counselors. I also plan to decrease the prevalence of teen suicide by bringing it to light and addressing some of the issues that may lead to suicidal thoughts and tendencies. |

| Any comments about your selections you would like to share with the student philanthropists? | Since starting this less than two years ago the itstime2 organization has spoken to over 15,000 students. We have also received tremendous feedback from both educators and students alike. There is no greater satisfaction than to receive a note, email, or handwritten letter from a student letting us know the impact we’ve had on them. We have also had multiple students tell us that we have thrown them a life line!!!! |
