What is the mission of your organization? |
The purpose of Helping Hands of Cincinnati is to provide financial support to families battling cancer in the tri-state area. Our goal is to provide financial support to supplement finances which insurance companies might not cover. These costs include but are not limited to travel, living expenses, related physical and mental therapy, deductibles, and co-insurance payments. In addition, we will direct families to other support programs that can ease the financial burdens associated with cancer. |

This grant money would go to supporting our featured family. Families apply for assistance and we meet with them to determine how we may best be able to assist their family. Sometimes it is medical bills or therapy to deal with their cancer diagnosis, other times its cost of living that they are falling behind on due to their inability to work because of treatment. |

Any other comments you would like to share with the students who might be reviewing your request? |
We started HHC because we saw a need for financial support for families in Cincinnati. We are not providing the medical assistance but we are looking to make this difficult battle a little more manageable for the individuals and their families. Working on HHC has been one of the best experiences in my life and I am fortunate to be able to share it with others that have the same passions as our organization. |
