What is the mission of your organization?
GO Pantry provides food to hungry kids in our community who do not have enough to eat on days they are away from school.
There are lots of great organizations helping to feed people in our community. The reason there are so many pantries and churches trying to feed people is because the need is so great. For now GO Pantry’s primary focus is children in Northern Kentucky. We live in this community and strive to make a positive impact on kids in our area by providing food to those who are hungry. We believe that to whom much is given, much is required. Our “much” includes time and resources to feed local kids who are in need. As a secondary mission, we have found a way to involve many people with volunteer and giving opportunities. We believe we can make a difference in the life of child by providing them food and in the life of a volunteer by giving them an opportunity to serve.
Which social causes (up to 3 choices) does your agency address through its programming? *
  • (3) Children
  • (9) Hunger
  • (11) Poverty
Any comments about your selections you would like to share with the student philanthropists? Hunger is a continual obstacle facing many children in our community. All of the children participating in GO Bags (weekend food bags) and GO Boxes (food boxes to help with food needs over extended school breaks) are referred to GO Pantry by the Family Resource Office or Guidance Counselor at their school. On school days these kids receive breakfast and lunch during the school day. When school in not in session, many of them do not eat. GO Pantry with the help of the community is stepping up to provide food for these children during the times they are not in school.
Does your organization have volunteer opportunities available for students? * Yes, Grades 9 – 12
List possible volunteer opportunities -or- a link to where they can be found on the web. GO Pantry hosts monthly volunteer events. We use an email distribution list to get the word out about volunteer opportunities. The sign-ups give all the specifics about day, shift times, shift descriptions, parking instructions, etc. If interested in volunteering, you can email Kelly Perry at kelly@gopantry.org and she will get you added to the Sign Ups for future events. Sign-ups are generally sent out 1 week before an event. We look forward to the opportunity of seeing you at an event this year!
