Fugees Family partners with communities to create schools and programs designed for newcomer and multilingual learners. We combine rigorous, language-rich academics with small cohorts, caring adult relationships, and whole-child supports like wellness, arts, and athletics. Our classrooms are culturally sustaining and trauma-informed, so students feel safe, seen, and ready to learn. By focusing on literacy, mastery, and real-world skills, we close opportunity gaps and open pathways to high school graduation, careers, and college; advancing educational justice for young people who are rebuilding their lives.
Children: Safe, stable, relationship-driven spaces; wraparound supports (wellness, arts, athletics); strong family engagement. Education: Literacy-first, language-rich instruction; small cohorts; mastery-based acceleration; real-world projects. Equity: Resources targeted by need; clear pathways to credentials and careers; removing barriers to participation. Inclusion: Cultures and home languages treated as assets; diverse staff; culturally sustaining, trauma-informed practices; welcoming community for every learner. |
