Our Mission: Affirm our connection to one another in humanity be feeding all who are hungry
Our Purpose: To address hunger where it exists recognizing the obstacles-circumstantial, physical, emotional, and psychological-that perpetuate poor nutrition. Hunger is neighborhood centric and often hidden. While many people associate hunger with homelessness, the largest and fastest growing group is the working poor. Many families to not have the means to travel even modest distances for food. FJP offers a street-level response to hunger, serving hot, nutritious meals in neighborhoods throughout Dayton, Ohio. Children, families, young, old, men, and women are offered not only a meal but an atmosphere of community, stability, safety and compassion.

Any comments about your selections you would like to share with the student philanthropists? Mobility is the key to our effectiveness. Food for the Journey Project (FJP) serves over 50,000 meals each year. FJP offers a mobile response to hunger by operating a mobile kitchen allowing us to set up and serve meals in Dayton’s poorest zip codes without the need to find established serving sites. The dignity of acceptance is our rule. Our response to hunger is not defined by time and location, it is defined by need. Everyone who shows up is served
