| Mission Statement
Bikes for All People is a nonprofit social enterprise of Community Development for All People committed to expanding access to safe affordable and empowering cycling for individuals and families of all backgrounds. We work to remove financial and educational barriers to bicycling by providing low cost bicycles parts accessories and quick while you wait repair services. In addition to retail and repair we offer refurbished bicycles for sale public shop access with hands on repair guidance and meaningful volunteer opportunities that build skills and community. Because many of the people we serve come from low to moderate income households we intentionally keep our services affordable and welcoming to all. We serve a diverse community of riders from those who bike for transportation fitness sustainability and mental wellness to those who rely on bicycles as their primary means of mobility. Central to our mission is bicycle safety education. Through classes one on one instruction and community events we equip riders of all ages and experience levels with the knowledge and confidence to maintain their bikes practice safe riding habits and navigate roadways responsibly. By bringing together people of varying backgrounds abilities and experience levels Bikes for All People fosters an inclusive cycling community rooted in connection dignity and shared learning. Volunteers whether new to bicycling or experienced mechanics gain hands on experience while helping others build mobility and independence. We empower people through movement education and access to transportation. Our work is made possible by the collective support of our community through volunteering donations and advocacy helping us continue to advance mobility and opportunity on the South Side of Columbus and beyond. |

| Bikes for All People advances social justice inclusion and equity by addressing transportation access as a fundamental need. For many individuals and families especially those from low to moderate income households lack of reliable transportation limits access to employment education health care and community resources. By providing affordable bicycles repair services and safety education we remove barriers that disproportionately impact historically underserved communities. Our welcoming community centered shop creates a space where people of all ages backgrounds and abilities are respected supported and empowered. Through volunteer engagement and public shop access we build skills dignity and agency while strengthening community connections across lines of race income and experience.
Health and youth development are central to our work. Access to bicycles promotes physical activity mental wellness and independence while reducing stress and supporting long term health outcomes. For children and youth bicycles are often a first source of freedom confidence and responsibility. We support young riders through safety education hands on learning and access to reliable bikes that allow them to travel safely to school activities and community spaces. By teaching bike maintenance and safe riding skills we help children build lifelong habits around health self sufficiency and environmental awareness while fostering a sense of belonging and possibility within their communities. |
