What is the mission of your organization?
We are a Christ-centered organization existing to educate, support, and empower people before, during, and after an unplanned pregnancy, while uplifting the sanctity of human life. We recognize that mentoring and counseling clients through an unplanned pregnancy is a key factor in strengthening the mother/baby bond, family relationships and involvement in a Christian community. We have more than two decades of experience offering training in parenting as well as counseling for adoption options and post-abortion healing. We work directly with women who are pregnant or who believe they may be pregnant, fathers of the children and supportive family members. Care Net’s trained volunteers offer pregnancy tests, ultrasound imaging to clients who test positive for pregnancy, lay counseling, parenting classes and basic supplies to any member of the community who needs support.
Which social causes (up to 3 choices) does your agency address through its programming? * |
|
Any comments about your selections you would like to share with the student philanthropists? |
We are a mix of medical (free ultrasound pregnancy confirmation, STI testing and treatment, breast feeding specialist, etc) and education (classes like healthy pregnancy, newborn care, fatherhood and parenting classes) and support (free maternity and baby clothes, diapers and wipes, baby furniture and car seats) Most of our clients are lower income and most stay in our programs from a few months to two years.
