Adoption Network Cleveland envisions an inclusive community supporting all people impacted by family separation. Adoption was once seen as a simple legal event, but today the programs and services that Adoption Network Cleveland offers recognize adoption as a complex, lifelong, and intergenerational journey with ongoing issues for all those whose lives are impacted by it. Our core programs all focus on advocacy, education, and support through the following areas.
• Family & Youth: provides guidance, services, and support for prospective and current adoptive, foster, and kinship families to address the unique challenges they face, build resilience, and create lasting permanency for children. • Adult Adoptees, Birthparents & DNA Discoveries: provides information, support, education, and advocacy for adoptees and birth parents and those facing DNA discoveries, supporting them in their life-long journey to find out who and where they are from, promote healing, define family, and create bonds that will carry them through life. • Education & Community Outreach: creates a community for professional training, development, and collaboration for those who work with adoptive, foster care, and kinship families; as well as educational opportunities for members of the adoption constellation and the community at large. |
