What is the mission of your organization? | |
1 in 6 children experience extreme poverty, abuse or life in an unstable home. Guided by the love of Jesus, A Child’s Hope Int’l works with trusted partners in Cincinnati and around the world to help children thrive by providing families with access to food, clean water, education and critical care.
Our intervention is focused on engaging the church and community to be solution providers for children in great need. Some of our programs include: 1. Hands Against Hunger. Volunteers produce high protein meal packs containing rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables and a vitamin powder with 21 vitamins and minerals. These meals have 13 grams of protein and meet the needs of malnourished children. Volunteers are engaged as solution providers while turning hunger into hope for thousands of children annually. Each year we engage 12,000 volunteers to pack over 3 million meals that have been shipped to 33 countries. 2. Hope Sacks. We are fighting food insecurity in the Greater Cincinnati area by providing weekend meals for 450 children weekly living in 3 high need neighborhoods throughout Cincinnati. These meals provide a release valve for families while also building a bridge for them to engage in services provided by partners we collaborate with in those communities. Currently we are working at Heritage Hill Elementary (Princeton City Schools, Villages at Roll Hilll, and South Avondale. 3. Clean Water. We provide clean water wells in India, Ghana and Kenya. We also provide water purification in other locations. 4. Deeper Initiatives. We are working in 4 countries to strenghten families and care for orphans. In each country we have a tailored approach to the needs of the community as well as the strengths of our partner. We are working in India, Haiti, Kenya, and Ghana. These projects include Pre-Natal Care, Education, Feeding Programs, Sustainable Agriculture, Family Preservation, and Community Development. |

ACHI has a unique opportunity of engaging volunteers locally in order to be solution providers globally. We believe that every time someone packs a meal, volunteers their time, or gives a gift, they are making a difference for a child somewhere in the world. Meal packing becomes a catalyst for caring people to go deeper in meeting the needs of children caught in systemic poverty, crisis, and conflict thorughout the world.
We love working with Magnified Giving students in ways that can develop students invested in changing the world today and in the decades to come. |

Does your organization have volunteer opportunities available for students? * |
Yes, Grades 6 – 12

List possible volunteer opportunities -or- a link to where they can be found on the web. |
We have public meal packing events that are open to anyone who registers at www.achildshopeintl.org/ We have other volunteer opportunities that can be designed for small groups of students. We are able to bring a meal packing event to a school and work with the entire school in making a difference in the lives of children. (there is a cost involved). |
