How different would your day be if you couldn’t hear? Some people are hard of hearing or deaf, and can’t hear.
Babies can’t learn to talk if they can’t hear? An adult who doesn’t hear isn’t able to hear a police siren. Hearing is important. In July, I watched an older lady – she walked with a cane – get fitted with a single hearing aid at the Hearing Speech & Deaf Center. She didn’t have money to buy buy hearing aids, but we could give her one, just one. The Hearing Speech Deaf Center has a program to give away hearing aids, but there are so so many people like the lady I saw that we can only give each person one hearing aid. I will always remember the smile on her face when she said, “I can hear!” A gift from Magnified Giving will help people more people hear. |
