What is the mission of your organization?
The mission of Crazy Cats Animal Rescue is to enrich the lives of communities in Greater Cincinnati by running a no-kill, foster-based cat rescue, dedicated to finding loving homes for homeless cats and pro-actively participating in humane trap-neuter-return programs. We take in cats from the streets of Cincinnati and we pull cats out of high-risk shelters that are in danger of euthanasia due to overcrowding. Friendly cats are socialized and cared for in loving foster homes and spay/neutered before adoption. Feral (not friendly) cats are returned to one of our ten managed feral colonies where they can no longer reproduce, but can live their lives in peace. Cats are our heart and our passion and we are making lives better one animal at a time.

Any comments about your selections you would like to share with the student philanthropists?
There are up to 100,000 free-roaming cats reproducing unchecked in Greater Cincinnati. Crazy Cats is responding to this issue. Since our founding in 2016, we have adopted over 1300 cats to loving homes and released over 250 cats to safe spaces, preventing countless litters of unwanted kittens. Not only is Crazy Cats effective in saving lives, but we are good stewards of donations and grants. We take our cats to a low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter clinic, purchase food and supplies at discount, and partner with other rescues for cats with special needs. Crazy Cats is 100% volunteer run, so all grant money goes directly to saving cats.
