| What is the mission of your organization? | EPIC House is a “shared living” home for the frail, low-income elderly over 60 years of age. The mission is to provide a home to those who would otherwise be homeless or sent prematurely to a nursing home. EPIC provides a family like environment where residents are cared for in a safe and loving home. Twenty-four hour staff does the cooking, cleaning, see that residents get their medications and keep medical appointments. Residents are given a great quality of life while maintaining their independence and dignity. |

| Any comments about your selections you would like to share with the student philanthropists? | By providing a home for these low-income elderly, we are seeing that they get healthy meals, medical attention and socialization. If they lived alone, some would not eat properly, take their medications or seek medical attention when needed. In addition, since most of our residents have no family to look after them, we give the a family-like atmosphere where they can bond and feel part of our family. |
