Our community is designated as a food desert by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture Economic Research Service, which means it is a low-income census tract where a significant number of residents have limited access to a supermarket or large grocery store. Additionally, many of our customers lack transportation, which further compounds their access to healthy food options. Our efforts rely heavily on the support of volunteers, donations, and sponsors including a Monthly Overhead Sponsor, which consists of individuals or businesses who financially support us. For over 37 years, the St. Leo Food Pantry has been providing food assistance to families in need in our community as a 100% volunteer-run Choice Food Pantry. We are organized like a grocery system; guests can walk through and choose items based on their family size. Everything is color-coded by size, so it is easy for our guests and their shopping escort. |

We would like to invite you to volunteer alone or with a small group of up to 5 people at our Choice Pantry to get the full experience. Volunteers are needed on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays from 12:15pm to 4pm. Tasks include sorting and organizing donations, stocking shelves, and assisting clients as they select their food items – all in service to making a difference in the lives of the less fortunate.
