What is the mission of your organization?
Frankies Furry Friends Rescue is a 501c3 organization. We are a small group of volunteers and fosters that foster the dogs in our own homes until they are adopted. Our main concern is giving a small breed dog either from a puppy mill or a local shelter a second chance at a life. We offer them a safe place until their forever homes are found. They receive proper food, they learn how to trust people. The foster gives them lots of love and attention, they are microchipped, and all vetting (including spaying or neutering over 6 months old, vaccinations, heartworm testing, bordetella and heartworm preventative) they need until their forever homes are found. We educate the public about the importance of spaying and neutering animals and emphasize the importance of adopting a dog and knowing it is a lifetime commitment. We are run entirely by a group of volunteers. We receive no government support and operate from the funds from our adoption fees, fundraising, and generous donations from animal lovers.

Frankies is an all-home based foster rescue for small breed dogs. We take in dogs from hoarding situations, when owners die, and from crowded rural shelters. This year, we’ve also helped two litters of puppies. One litter was left in a cooler, the other in a box on the side of the road. Though we are small with a tiny budget, our entire team of volunteers takes excellent care of the dogs and puppies in their care. They get all the medical help they need and a very patient human who helps them learn to trust again. Frankies also has a “senior-to-senior” program where we place older dogs with older adults. Frankies covers the cost of their vet bills for the rest of their lives.
