| Cited as one of the top 10 reasons kids miss school, clothing is important in not only shielding children from the elements, but also in influencing their interactions with peers and shaping how they view themselves. AT GLAM, we believe that when children are clothed in items that meet their individual needs, they have an increased sense of self-worth that allows them to bring their best selves to school. By providing clothing free of charge and in a manner which underscores the importance and worth of each child who receives our help, we promote positive experiences in school for children and teens. Our program is unique in its approach to addressing the barriers related to school attendance and places distinct emphasis on cultivating confidence and higher self-esteem for children living in poverty.
Our program relies on the generosity of community members who donate gently used items to us. We then sort these items to ensure each child receives quality clothing and shoes that match their individual style and size. We are always looking for help in fulfilling our mission to end clothing insecurity in Greater Cincinnati. So we’re asking you: Will you help us Give Like a Mother? |
