| What is the mission of your organization? | Our mission is to support local police departments by providing funding for their K9 Units. We fund the purchase of working K9’s (as well as training with the new k9 & handler), protective vests & harnesses, training equipment & heat alarms for their vehicles.

| Any comments about your selections you would like to share with the student philanthropists? | Police K9’s not only provide protection to their partner (handler), they also locate (track) lost, missing people/children, have found suicidal folks as well as perpetrators. They can detect illegal drugs & take dealers off the streets thereby improving our communities. There are explosives (bomb) detection dogs that will ‘sweep’ (check) areas (i.e. Red’s & Bengals stadiums, large events) & they also respond to bomb threats (many of which happen in our schools). They offer protection everyday & work hard to keep our communities safe. |
