| The purpose of our Mega Adoption is to educate the public about animal adoption and the need for the community to support local shelters and rescue groups, and then offer a platform to bring together animals in need of a home with people willing to give them one. Our event is the single most successful adoption venue for most of our participating groups. Not only do they see a marked spike in their adoption numbers at our event, but we also aim to plant a seed in our community that helps change mindsets about shelter animals and drives home the notion to “think adoption first” when looking for a new furry family member. It is reported that many adoptions in the months following the event are directly attributed to our educational campaigns or a group’s participation in My Furry Valentine. | |
