What is the mission of your organization?
CSA’s mission is “Fostering independence on a foundation of trust through housing, jobs, and personal and faith development.” Celebrating our 20th anniversary in 2025, CSA has been providing short-term supportive housing, job assistance, and personal, behavioral and spiritual support, all to promote the eventual independence and self-sufficiency of the men we serve. We assist the men we serve to realize their full potential by relying on Christian-based principles to provide housing and job assistance, and address the additional issues – primarily substance abuse, addiction, and recovery – which are preventing them from leading productive lives within our community. We are committed to reconnecting dads, brothers and sons back to families, reengaging men to the power of community, and rebuilding lives through the love of Christ.

Any comments about your selections you would like to share with the student philanthropists?
Poverty is such a broad category, but the one that fits our mission the best. We provide services to help men transition from poverty, homelessness and addiction to independence and self-sufficiency. We have an 80% success rate and, since our inception in 2005, we have served more than 3,700 men in the Greater Cleveland area.
