• the engagement of empowered families and dedicated professionals in the processes of developing and delivering high quality free and appropriate public education for children with disabilities, including child-find, transition, and 504/ADA.
• the power of our collective voice in advocating for the resources needed for high quality education for children with disabilities.
• the strength of our partnerships with families, professionals and organizations in ensuring positive outcomes for children with disabilities.
• the impact of considering the needs of children with disabilities in all educational decision-making.

Any comments about your selections you would like to share with the student philanthropists?
OCECD is proud of the work we do each and every day- we’re a free service available to any parent or family who has a child with a disability. We help families be able to understand processes, especially the special education process- so they can be active participants in their child’s education to make sure their child’s needs are met and good outcomes can occur. We are very proud of our work with youth with disabilities who are transition age (in Ohio age 14 and up) to help them learn self-advocacy skills so they can speak up about what they want for themselves in their schooling and future- education, career, independent living. We are here to help. 🙂
