Any comments about your selections you would like to share with the student philanthropists? | Peaslee was founded in 1984 with the goal of preserving our neighborhood center as an educational resource for learners of all ages and backgrounds, with a priority focus on benefiting families living with low income levels. Our multifaceted programming uses participatory models of education, encouraging learners to find their voice and express what matters to them. Our enrichment programs include: Peaslee Piano Program, Agents of Change After-School Program and Summer Camp, Peaslee Kids Summer Camp, Girls’ Writing Circles, and Social Justice Education. Collaborative projects and field trips to our city’s cultural and historical institutions are essential components of our programs, as well as a social justice curriculum that encourages students to think and act creatively to strengthen our communities. We aim to positively impact the social-emotional well-being of the children and youth in our programs so they can grow and develop into healthy, thriving citizens. |
